The pros of a Combination resume are:
- It has the good points of both the chronological as well as the functional resume
- It is not very long and made of two pages
- It highlights the skill sets that you have and at the same time lets the employer know of the places that you have worked at.
- For students it lets them concentrate more on their skills and knowledge rather than the work experience.
- Even though you might have worked for the same company for a long time or been in the same position without a change in the job title it lets you explain the skills that you have acquired during that time.
- In case of a career change it does not emphasis that but rather on the transferable skills
The cons of a Combination Resume are:
- The combination resume lets your reader be aware of the fact that you have been job hopping or have had a career break.
- In case of having had no particular career path to follow or your educational qualifications do not match your chosen career path then this will be known to the employer.
- Lastly, it is not a good resume to use if you are trying to hide your age.
